Attic Fan Installation

Exhaust fan removing overheated attic air

Attic fan installations I'd say are one of the smartest choices any property owner can make to keep your home cooler, by flushing out the trapped attic air which can easily rise 20 to 30 degrees above the present heat of the day, this process helps eliminate the continued accumulation of these extreme temperatures which inevitably radiate down through the ceiling, forcing the air conditioner to remain on longer while struggling to maintain the cooler desired temperature.

When using attic exhaust fans you only use one, you can use more than one if you have multiple intake vents for the air to be drawn from, It is not helpful to have two attic exhaust fans when only having two attic vent openings to work with. Just remember when moving air out, it needs to be drawn in from somewhere, creating that flush or air stream condition.

There is also what in known as the whole house exhaust system which does have benefits although this design is helpful but I m not too convinced on the design.

The whole house fan when actuated moves stuffy living space air to the attic which in turn displaces the attic air through movement to the natural attic openings to the outside.

I personally wouldn't want to remove filtered conditioned living space air into the attic, when air is displaced it become drawn in from other openings, could be windows, fireplaces or other non air tight openings, windows can literally rattle from the drawn intake force created.
